Our Bunnings barbeques throughout October, November, and December were a resounding success, demonstrating the incredible power of community spirit. Thanks to the hard work of our members and the many “friends of Kiwanis” who came along eager to help, we raised a fantastic total of over $8,000 during this period. These funds provide vital support for our ongoing projects, ensuring we can continue serving children in need both locally and abroad.
Beyond our standard fundraising, we also utilized these events to host donation “pots” for several urgent and deserving causes:
- The Bondi Beach Tragedy Appeal: Our community showed overwhelming compassion, donating $850 specifically to support those affected by this event. We are currently evaluating the most effective way to ensure these funds reach those who need them most.
- Share the Dignity: Donations were collected to support this vital organization that provides essential hygiene products to women and girls in crisis.
- Father Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets: We continued our support for this initiative, which works to provide safety and opportunities for homeless and at-risk youth.
A special thank you goes out to Emily, who spent many hours on the tools cooking up sausages and onions to keep the crowds happy. Whether you helped by flipping snags, managing the donation pots, or simply buying a sausage, you have contributed to a significant impact in our community.
