Celebrating Excellence with Terrific Kids Awards
The Kiwanis Club of Sydney is proud to continue its long-standing tradition of supporting local schools through the Terrific Kids (TK) awards program. This initiative, which began 12 years ago at Sir Eric Woodward School (SEWS), now extends to Warrah Special School and Broderick Gillawarna School (BGS) as well.

Honoring Achievements at SEWS
SEWS held their annual Presentation Day with two distinct events: one for the Distance Education Service Unit (DESU) and one for the in-person students. Our dedicated members Cathy and Steve attended both events in late November to present the Terrific Kids awards.
**Quinn (Face to Face)**
Quinn’s bright and positive energy is truly infectious. He greets each day with a smile and a cheerful attitude, spreading happiness to everyone around him. His enthusiasm shines through in all activities, and his sense of humor brings joy to the school community.
**Thomas (DESU)**
Thomas has shown remarkable commitment and enthusiasm for his schoolwork this year. His regular attendance at online lessons and social activities highlights his dedication. Thomas has significantly improved his participation, attentiveness, and communication skills, making him a standout student.

Warrah Special School held their student presentations on December 2nd. Sree and Rajni were present to award four graduating students, an effort that was greatly appreciated by everyone involved.
The BGS Presentation Day followed on December 3rd, with Jeff and Angelique presenting awards to two deserving students.
Recognising Excellence at Warrah and BGS
**Ibrahim**
Ibrahim’s dedication and enthusiasm for learning are commendable. He consistently strives for improvement and demonstrates strong communication skills while engaging with his peers.
**Noah**
Noah has made significant positive changes in his behavior and communication skills. His use of visuals and AUSLAN signs, along with his increased happiness, has fostered more positive interactions with both peers and staff, contributing to a more engaged and content Noah.
Looking Forward
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sree, Rajni, Jeff, Angelique, Cathy, and Steve for their dedication in recognising and celebrating these students’ self-improvement. Each of these Terrific Kids exemplifies the values of hard work, enthusiasm, and positive change that make them truly outstanding.
As we look towards 2025, we hope to expand the Terrific Kids Awards program to include additional schools, possibly even Lidcombe School. Our commitment to supporting and encouraging young learners remains steadfast, and we look forward to recognizing many more Terrific Kids in the years to come.
