The event · In the room · Questions · Resources · Return to Kiwanis Club of Sydney
Before you join.
The questions we’re asked most, answered plainly. If yours isn’t here, come off mute and ask on the night, or reach any of our experts directly.
What is Tools for the Living?
A monthly online conversation about the things most of us put off, wills, funerals, aged care, keeping your money safe, and saying a good goodbye. It’s hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Sydney as part of the national Dying to Know Day campaign, run by Proveda. It’s warm and practical: a conversation, not a lecture.
When is it, and how do I join?
The second Wednesday of every month at 6pm AEST, online via Zoom. The next session is Wednesday 9 September 2026. Register on the event page and we’ll send you the link.
What’s this month’s focus?
Each month brings the same room of experts and spotlights one topic. September is a good goodbye: funerals, the death box, and the wishes worth writing down. The full schedule of upcoming topics is on the event page.
Is it free?
Yes. It’s a community service of the Kiwanis Club of Sydney. There’s no cost to attend. If you’d like to support our work with families at Sydney Children’s Hospital, we’ll share a giving link, but it’s never expected.
Do I have to come every month?
Not at all. Come to the sessions that suit you. Each one stands on its own, and you’re always welcome to bring someone who’d find it useful.
Is this financial or legal advice?
No. Everything shared on the night is general information to help you know where to start. For advice about your own situation, you’re warmly invited to reach out to any of the experts directly.
Will it be recorded? Can I get the resources?
Yes. If you register, we’ll email you the recording, each expert’s one thing to do this week, and a folder of tools and links after the session.
Who is it for?
Anyone thinking ahead, and especially the sandwich generation, those caring for ageing parents while raising their own family. Wherever you are on the road, there’s something here for you.
Have a bigger question about insurance, wills or your legacy?
Our panellist Drew Browne runs Dying to Ask, an anonymous Q&A on life insurance, wills, and protecting your legacy, in partnership with Kiwanis and Bee Positive Consulting. You can read the answers, or ask anything, anonymously.
Still wondering something? Come and ask on the night.
