A Night to Remember: BGS Formal
On December 13th, Kiwanis Sydney members Heidi, Angelique, and Belinda had the privilege of attending the Broderick Gillawarna School (BGS) Formal Night at Revesby Workers Club. This memorable evening celebrated the completion of Year 12 for four graduate students. The night was a joyous occasion, filled with laughter and pride, as students, their families, teachers, and community members came together to honour this significant milestone.
A Day of Fun and Collaboration: BGS Fun Day
The festivities continued as Kiwanis Sydney embarked on another exciting event: the annual BGS Fun Day, held on December 17th. This year, we were delighted to kick off a new partnership with Bloomberg staff, who joined us in providing a delightful barbeque for the event. Belinda and her team of six worked tirelessly, cooking and serving 125 sausage sandwiches along with packets of chips, despite the extreme heat. Their dedication ensured that students, parents, and staff alike enjoyed the tasty treats.
Activities and Entertainment
The BGS Fun Day was packed with exciting activities, making it an unforgettable experience for the children. The local police force was on-site, showcasing their cars and engaging with the kids, who were thrilled to explore and learn. In addition to this, the day featured face painting, jumping castles, fairy floss, a petting zoo, bubble blowing, and magicians, ensuring non-stop fun and entertainment for everyone.
Looking Ahead
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to these events, making them a resounding success. Special thanks to Belinda and the Bloomberg staff for their invaluable contribution at the Fun Day barbeque. We are hopeful that this partnership with Bloomberg will continue, enabling us to serve more children within our community.
