Two Feet and a Heartbeat: A Day of Remembrance and Hope
Supporting HeartKids and Their Families
Each year, HeartKids hosts a significant event known as “Two Feet and a Heartbeat.” This gathering serves not only as a social occasion for HeartKids and their families but also as a poignant moment to remember the “Heart Angels,” the children who have sadly passed away due to congenital heart disease.
This year’s event took place on Sunday, October 13th, in Western Sydney, alongside similar events held across other cities and regional centers throughout Australia. We are proud to share that over $453,000 was raised for HeartKids, supporting children and their families as they navigate the often daunting world of hospitalizations and treatments.
A Meaningful Walk for a Worthy Cause
The event featured two walks: a 4km walk commemorating the heartbreaking reality that four HeartKids die each week in Australia due to childhood-onset heart disease, and an 8km walk in remembrance of the eight children born each day in Australia battling heart disease.

Kiwanis Sydney Gives Back
The Kiwanis Club of Sydney proudly contributed to the day by providing delicious barbeque sausage sandwiches and bottled water for the participants. Our dedicated volunteers cooked and served these refreshments to the walkers as they completed their walks. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie, laughter, and a shared commitment to supporting the HeartKids community.
Together with the HeartKids, their siblings, family members, and friends, everyone enjoyed a wonderful day filled with hope and solidarity. We’re thrilled to announce that we also collected over $190 in donations, which will be directed to HeartKids.
A special thank you goes to Belinda, Jeff, Vikki, and Aiden for their hard work and commitment in running the barbeque and making the day a success.
Looking Ahead
As we look forward to next year’s event, we’re reminded of the strength of the HeartKids community and the importance of supporting families affected by congenital heart disease. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this year’s “Two Feet and a Heartbeat” event a meaningful occasion.
